Assessments

As a certified New York state reading teacher, I can provide you with an independent assessment of your child’s reading level. You can rest assured that the testing your child receives from me is unbiased as I do not work for any public or private school. This can be beneficial to parents who are seeking more assistance for a child in public school, as I am an independent, third party. Homeschooling families may also seek an assessment of a child’s progress performed by someone other than the parents.

In addition to providing you with a reading level for your child, I can also include a full write-up of my assessment if you need to share the results with others. The basic reading level assessment costs $50 and generally takes one hour. The full assessment, including a formal written report, is $75.

My favorite job is to take the assessment results and design a language arts curriculum that will take advantage of your child’s strengths while eliminating areas of weakness. This is my Homeschooler’s Special and includes the one hour assessment and the preparation of an individualized curriculum for $100. If you’d like to add an additional year-end assessment, then the price would be $140.

I have over ten years of teaching experience from kindergarten to college and enjoy working from a student’s strengths rather than focusing solely on weaknesses. I look forward to working with you to fulfill any testing needs you may have for your child.
