About the Author
“As a proud father, I want my daughter to go as far in life as her talents and ambition will take her. I think I share that attitude with many fathers. That is why dads coach their daughters in sports and try to motivate them to excel in their academic work. That is also what many dads have in mind when they look for bedtime stories to tell to their daughters.

Failing to find stories that provided heroic role models for my daughter, I used to make up stories in which my daughter played a heroic role. In these stories, she never encountered problems that she could not overcome.

Not every father or mother is good at making up stories. So I wrote and collected some stories that all parents will want to tell their daughters.”

Reviews
“Girls to the Rescue is a powerful antidote to all those helpless, hopeless princess stories. These stories are amusing, poignant, inspiring, and ultimately healing.”
–Mary Phiper, Ph.D. author of Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls

“Forget about glass slippers and helpless damsels. The moral of this story is: Girls can do anything, even save the day!”
–Peggy Orenstein, author of School Girls: Young Women, Self-Esteem, and the Confidence Gap
